OFB and c-LEcta celebrate topping-out ceremony for "BioSquare Leipzig"

OFB Projektentwicklung GmbH has reached another milestone on the way to the completion of the first construction phase of the BioSquare Leipzig bio-technology campus. Together with c-LEcta, Clemens Schülke, Mayor and Deputy Head of Economic Affairs and Digital Affairs, Thomas Dienberg, Mayor of Construction and numerous project participants from local politics, Today, the project developer celebrated the topping-out ceremony for the first construction phase of the versatile office complex at the Alte Messe 1a in Leipzig.

The first construction phase, consisting of two individual buildings - part A and B - offers a total gross floor area of about 20,000 m². Part A has a gross floor area of approx. 10,000 m² already fully let and will become the new headquarters of the Leipzig biotechnology company c-LEcta, which has been represented on the Alte Messe grounds since its foundation in 2004. The completion of the building is scheduled for the second quarter of 2025.

Part B is also currently under construction and is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2025. With seven upper floors, it offers maximum flexibility through floor heights of up to four meters and modern office space for communication, which meets the needs of modern companies.

BioSquare Leipzig pursues ambitious sustainability goals and strives for DGNB Gold certification also for laboratory use and conformity with the EU taxonomy.

The shell construction is carried out by the construction company Otto Heil, whose expertise and quality assurance ensures the basis for tenant-specific expansion. All in all, BioSquare Leipzig embodies state-of-the-art architecture and innovative office concepts combined with the pioneering spirit of the biotechnology industry in Leipzig.

The new headquarters demonstrates the power of the health and biotech cluster, which is growing mainly on the Alte Messe grounds. Thomas Dienberg, Mayor and Deputy for Urban Development and Construction in Leipzig and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of LEVG, explains: "The state-of-the-art office complex BioSquare is especially for BioTechCompany very attractive and will further strengthen the location Alte Messe in the dynamic southeast of Leipzig. This shows once again that our city, with its mix of modern, historical and urban land use, uses its opportunities and thus sets standards for the living space of the future. “
